Blade Runner - Roy's Final Monologue
2022The "Tyrell Corporation" advanced robots to being virtually identical to humans... these "Replicants" were used Off-World as slave labor... after a bloody mutiny the repicants were declared illegal on earth and executed upon trespassing by special police squats. Furthermore they were built with a fail-safe device: a four year life span. Roy (portrait here)comes to Tyrell to ask for a longer life span, while being hunted down by Blade Runner Deckard. But the fail-safe device cannot be revoked. Just before his time is up, Roy decides to save Deckard during a final showdown of kill or be killed. While sitting on the roof top alone with Deckard, those are the replicants final words. Why did Roy save Deckard? Maybe because he chose to. Making good choices. That's all that matters in the end.

I thought it might be nice, if you are in a small space, to have the opportunity to venture out through the windows in the little paintings. The paintings were created for a small NY apartment.

Careful use of primary colors! Let the colors play around each other. The instruments are just tools, secondary to the music. Jazz fills dull spaces with life, brings light. It's passion! It's eternal and bridges gaps.

2010I finished my paintings on yellow, red and blue. A big uni colored shape and a woman interpreting the color through shape. Long hours of trying to grasp and put on canvas what I had in mind... Obnoxiously Yellow was finished in no time and I had a pretty good idea of what to do with Cool Blue Magic. Red Hot was really the most difficult, because what's hot for a woman? Some think big butts are hot others not. It took me a night of insomnia and morning struggle with the canvas to get beyond body parts and focus on shape as I had done for the other two. The essence of 'hot' is a certain rhythm rather than a thing. It is where music meets painting. Same is true for the other two paintings of the series. 2009The painting expresses the feeling of not quite fitting in. The gray men are just slightly different and even though they successfully take part in everyday life, they're left with a feeling of alienation - and, if there has been any doubt, the gray men have always been among us, even fighting on our side. You wouldn't even recognize them. But they - they know who they are.
